Stranger Things Star Dacre Montgomery Wants To Play Jason Todd/Red Hood

We know Dacre Montgomery can play a good guy (in Power Rangers) or a bad guy (in Stranger Things). But can he portray a DC comic book antihero? Montgomery has just revealed that he would consider playing Jason Todd / Red Hood, but only under certain conditions.

Montgomery recently worked with GQ on the magazine's YouTube segment Actually Me where celebrities go undercover on the internet. The Stranger Things actor came across a tweet suggesting that he should be cast as the DC character and Montgomery seemed to like the idea.

"I don't know. I feel like I'm at an interesting point where I'm enjoying seeing the universes come to an end and other ones begin, but I would really love to play outside of the world that's so prominent, I guess, in cinemas at the moment," he said.

So what exactly does Montgomery want to do with Red Hood's movie? "Just origin stories of amazing superheroes that we love," he said. "I'd love to dive into a different world that we don't know, that we aren't given a lot of both in television format and in cinema."

It's understandable why Montgomery would want to work on something completely original. Perhaps DC and Warner Bros. will hear him out and consider the idea.

Although it's still unclear if Montgomery will be taking on the role of Red Hood, some fans are also hoping he would play another equally popular comic book character. One fan art recently went viral as it depicts the Stranger Things star as Wolverine. No word yet on whether Montgomery is interested in that role, either.
