Stranger Things Star Caleb McLaughlin Wants to Play DCEU's Static Shock

We already know and love Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair in Stranger Things. However, it looks like the young actor has his eye on a major role in another franchise. McLaughlin has just admitted that he wants to play Static Shock in the highly anticipated DC Extended Universe film!

Caleb McLaughlin recently took part in a Q&A at 2022's Heroes Comic Con in Brussels (via YouTube). When asked what kind of project he wanted to work on after Stranger Things, McLaughlin didn't hesitate.

"What other movie would I like… I want to do a superhero film," McLaughlin said before admitting, "I would love to play Static Shock honestly."

It's a cool choice but Caleb McLaughlin also pointed out that he is open to working on any comic book movie.

"I would want to do something like a superhero, or even something… it doesn’t matter. I’m really open to being any character. I feel like I can play anybody honestly. It really -- I feel like how I pick my films is really what speaks to me," he said.

"Also, I’m also developing other projects myself that will be coming out. Not soon, but soon," McLaughlin added. "But yeah, it really doesn’t matter actually. It’s just whatever like project speaks to me and my creativity."

We're loving the idea of Caleb McLaughlin playing Static Shock or any major comic book hero for that matter. But most importantly, we're looking forward to his return as Lucas Sinclair in the final season of Stranger Things.

The Static Shock film was announced in 2020 and there haven't been any updates on the project since then. For now, Stranger Things Season 5 has not yet been given an official release date. However, the final season is expected to premiere on Netflix in the next two years. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
