Legacy Recordings just announced the details of the soundtrack for the upcoming Stranger Things Season 4. Just like how Season 4 will be released in two volumes, the soundtrack will also be digitally released in two installments: The first part will be released on May 27, and the full soundtrack will be out on July 1. The cassette and CD editions of the soundtrack will be out on September 9, and a 2xLP vinyl edition will be released later this year.

Stranger Things Season 4’s soundtrack will feature a remixed version of Journey’s "Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).” The Bryce Miller/Alloy Tracks remix, which you can listen to below, was first featured in the Stranger Things Season 4 trailer that was released last month. You can listen to the soundtrack below.

As of now, Netflix has not yet released the track listing for the upcoming Stranger Things Season 4 soundtrack, but fans of the show can expect a lot of era-specific classic-rock hits. Previous seasons of Stranger Things have featured Queen's "Hammer to Fall," Toto's "Africa," and Scorpions' "Rock You Like a Hurricane," to name a few.

Former Journey singer Steve Perry got involved in the recent Stranger Things Season 4 trailer after he heard the demo of the remixed "Separate Ways." The founder and owner of the boutique music house Alloy Tracks, Troy MacCubbin, said that he received a very unexpected phone call from Steve Perry to talk about the details of the remix shortly afterward.

"I'm thinking I'm talking to this guy from Netflix because he caught me off guard and he wanted to talk about the song," MacCubbin told in an interview with Forbes. "He kept saying to me, 'I don't usually allow these songs to go through,' and I’m thinking, 'Oh, it's the guy from Netflix.' We probably talked for about 15 minutes, he wanted to know all about what we did with the song and how'd we do this and how'd we do that? At the end of the conversation, before he hung up, I was like, 'Sorry, who am I talking with? What's your role in this?' And he's like, 'It's Steve Perry from Journey!'"

Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4 Part 1 is set to release on May 27, while Stranger Things Season 4 Part 2 is set to be released on July 1.
