There is no pumping the breaks in Stranger Things Season 4 when it comes to the deaths in the show considering that it killed off some characters that are just starting to get a hang on what is happening. For Eddie Munson, his fate is sealed as the Duffer Brothers themselves confirm that he is "officially dead."
It's no surprise that Stranger Things Season 4 killed off a new character that everyone is just starting to love or even just like. This has been a consistent thing for the series and the death toll continues with the latest addition to the list, Eddie Munson.
In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Jospeh Quinn's Eddie Munson is officially dead, sadly. They also confirmed who lives and who dies in Stranger Things Season 4. For those who are wondering whether Max is alive, they also confirmed that as an affirmative in the same interview.
Eddie Munson just got added in the series but he already contributed so much to it that he easily became a fan-favorite. His quirky personality and quick-witted comments are his best weapons and in the finale of Stranger Things Season 4, it was seen how his life ended.
He even threw the most rock concert in the whole history of Hawkins playing Metallica's Master of Puppets because who would've thought it could possibly done in the Upside Down. In the end, he didn't run away like when he did when Chrissy died in his trailer.
Dustin was there in his final moments and he enstrusted to him the nerds or those who play Dungeons & Dragons. Eddie was supposed to graduate at Hawkins High School the same year but after his encounter with Vecna's bat-like monsters, he didn't even get the chance to make it to the march.
Eddie died a hero for a town who hated him so much. Whether he would be back in Stranger Things Season 5 is another thing. Remember, Billy still returned in some scenes. Maybe, Eddie would, too.
Stranger Things Season 4 Volumes 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix.
