Stranger Things Season 3 : David Harbour Comments on that After-Credits Scene

[SPOILERS FOR STRANGER THINGS SEASON 3]

Jim Hopper (David Harbour) has always been one of the main characters of Stranger Things, which is why it came as such a shock that he was killed off in the last episode. A lot of fans are hoping that Hopper actually survived thanks to that one after-credits scene, and it looks like Harbour himself is trying to keep fans hopeful for his return.

Talking to Entertainment Tonight, Harbour explains:

"I mean, I have no idea! [Laughs] I have no idea! I mean that, of course, is my hope too. It seems pretty crazy though. You know, that machine went off and blew up and Hopper seemed to be trapped there. He did glance around a little bit, but he seemed to be trapped and the machine exploded."

He then goes on about the after-credits scene which takes place in Russia:

"And then you cut to, what was it? It starts with a 'K' or something – some town in Russia, right? Where there's some American and there's some other prisoner. I don't know, I mean it seems strange. I don't know how though… I mean, we should always hold onto hope. We should never let go of hope – but Barb is really dead."

While I think Hopper dying was a solid choice for the series, it does kind feel terrible that a character as good as him is gone. With the show seemingly building up to him ending up with Joyce, we kind of had the rug pulled up from under us when he ended up gone.

Then again, we all thought Eleven was gone by the end of the first season as well, and look how that turned out? You think they could do the same for someone like Hopper?
