Stranger Things 3: Here's Every Character Who Could Be In The Bunker [SPOILERS]

At this point, most of us have already seen all eight episodes of Stranger Things Season 3 so it's time to ask some questions. Let's start off with the big one at the end of the season finale: Who is in the bunker?

In the post-credits scene of the episode Chapter 8: The Battle of Starcourt, viewers were transported to a chilly Russian base in Kamchatka where two guards have been tasked with procuring a prisoner. When one guard moves toward a bunker, the other quickly tells him not to pick "the American." This leads to them taking a Russian prisoner instead. It is then revealed that the prisoner would be fed to a full-grown Demogorgon.

So who is the "American" that the Russians have captured? The most popular theory right now is Jim Hopper, who was last seen sacrificing himself so Joyce Byers could close the portal to the Upside Down. Of course, it looks like Hopper died during the ordeal but since there was no body, fans believe he may have survived.

Another possible survivor is Dr. Brenner, who was believed to have been killed in the first season. However, Season 2 also opened up the possibility that the man who raised Eleven is still alive. Did the Russians take him away because of his knowledge about the Upside Down?

Some people are also wondering if the "American" might be Dr. Owens or Murray Bauman. Both characters survived the season finale and seem like great candidates for the Russians to kidnap because of their knowledge.

But what if it's someone who has already been confirmed to be dead? One theory suggests that Billy's body was taken away by the Russians and they could be experimenting on him because of his connection to the Mind Flayer.

Who do you think was in the bunker in the Stranger Things 3 post-credits scene? Sound off in the comments below.
