The COVID-19 pandemic has been a major pain in the you-know-where for a lot of film and television projects given the fact that it has already caused a lot of production delays. However, Stranger Things producer Shawn Levy is seeing things a little more positively amid all of the uncertainty. The showrunner would like to think that the entire situation is actually a blessing in disguise for them and could turn out to be a significant advantage on their part.

In a recent interview with Collider, Levy shared that although it's quite frustrating and unfortunate that production for Season 4 of the hit Netflix science-fiction series had to be halted earlier this year, it gives the writers of the show more time to make the upcoming season even greater than it initially was. "I'll just say the pandemic definitely massively delayed shooting and therefore the launch of our current Season Four, date still TBD."

Levy confidently said that the situation would definitely favor them: "But it impacted very positively by allowing the Duffer brothers, for the first time ever, to write the entire season before we shoot it and to have time to rewrite in a way that they rarely had before so the quality of these screenplays are exceptional, maybe better than ever."

By the looks of it, Season 4 could very well be the show's best offering yet given the fact that the third season's finale gave fans a massive cliffhanger. Now that Eleven seemingly got stripped of her powers, it leaves the gang with a lot of problems to deal with especially with the arrival of new characters that could potentially be threats to them. Whether the extensive delay brought upon by the pandemic would end up becoming beneficial for the show or not still remains to be seen, however, Levy does speak total sense when he said that the writing could definitely be improved with all the time that they have. We'll just have to wait and see for now.
