After three years of anticipation, Stranger Things Season 4 is finally available to binge on Netflix. Following the triumphant debut, Stranger Things developed into two more seasons that centered on the eerie dimension called the Upside Down and supernatural creatures like the Demogorgon and the Mind Flayer. Now that Season 4 is considered the show's endgame as it nearly approaches its monumental finale, fans all over the world have been lauding the sci-fi series that even legendary horror author Stephen King seems to be a fan of it.

See Stephen King's tweet below:

The Stranger Things official writers account @strangerwriters humbly replied to King's tweet, "Sorry Uncle Stevie, 8+9 aren’t done yet, but we’re working as fast as we can! Glad you’re enjoying and that you picked up on our super subtle Carrie riff"

Stephen King fans might have already picked up that Season 4 almost mimicked King’s most famous book, Carrie. [SPOILER WARNING] Volume 1 opens up with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brow) adjusting to her new life in California and dealing with her mean bullies, which slightly resembles Carrie’s plot. Aside from the Carrie reference, it's also evident that Season 4 took inspiration from A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Freddy Krueger with the show’s new villain Vecna, who also tortures his prey in his own dimension. Surprisingly, Robert Englund, who played Freddy Krueger in the horror flick also appeared in the series as Victor Creel.

Getting praised by Stephen King might be Stranger Things' biggest validation at the moment. Considering King's influence on horror flicks and literature, the praise is mainly aimed at the Duffer Brothers for creating another outstanding season. Although Stranger Things Season 4 is already getting a lot of flattering feedback not just from King but from the massive fans, it's still up to Duffer Bros. how they will maintain the show’s thrilling momentum for Volume 2 and Season 5.

Stranger Things Season 4 Volume 1 is now streaming on Netflix, while Volume 2 will premiere on July 1.
