Star Wars Writer Garry Whita Teases Another Major Movie Project

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Gary Whitta has a new film project in development, and it sounds pretty big.

Posting on Twitter, the writer behind Star Wars very first spinoff movie and the first season of Telltale's The Walking Dead decided to share major news this week, saying that he had just "sold a movie." Whitta didn't really share too many details about the project including the premise of the film and who the film was being sold to.

One thing is for certain though, the Star Wars writer says that the movie is a "big one."

"Overall it was kind of a meh week but today came in strong with a GREAT ending, for reasons that will become apparent to you all at some point in the future. Can't say more.Okay, okay. I sold a movie. A big one. Writing and producing. Hope to be able to talk about it soon!" Whitta wrote about in his post.

This is exciting news. Whitta did excellent work writing for Lucasfilm. Rogue One was nothing short of a success for Star Wars raking in over $1 billion at the worldwide box office when it released in 2016. It was a critically acclaimed film, receiving positive reviews from both fans and critics.

We're sure that this new project Whitta had sold is going to be another big hit – though we're really hoping that it's going to be another Star Wars movie.

Let's wait and see whether Whitta offers more details about this movie.

The Skywalker saga is available for streaming on Disney+.
