Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters To Answer a Very Important Boba Fett Mystery

One of the most wanted men in the galaxy, Boba Fett is considered one of the most feared bounty hunters across the galaxy. Recently, Marvel Comics revealed a new crossover set with Star Wars for the gap between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The War of the Bounty Hunters will be centering on Boba Fett and will be answering one of the biggest questions as regards this timeline of Star Wars. The Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 will be written by Charles Soule (Star Wars) and illustrated by Steve McNiven (Civil War).

The story will be appearing in both the five-issue War of the Bounty Hunters miniseries which will be written by Soule and illustrated by Luke Ross (Star Wars: Thrawn) and in Marvel's Episode V-era comics - Star Wars, Star Wars: Darth Vader, Star Wars: Bounty Hunters and Star Wars: Doctor Aphra.

The War of the Bounty Hunters will answer the question as to why Luke, Leia, and Lando took so long to rescue Han Solo from Jabba the Hutt. Given that there's a year between the two films in the original trilogy, this may be the answer to what most are looking for.

In this story, Boba Fett did not proceed to Jabba's Palace immediately and he will find himself to be the most hunted target across the galaxy because all eyes will be on his price bounty. The Rebel Alliance, the criminal organization of Black Sun, and his fellow bounty hunters will be doing everything they can to take it away from him.

Boba Fett will be taking on the heaviest hitters of the galaxy. This would mean that Boba Fett will be himself and his prize bounty against the galaxy, against all people.

The timing of this story would be impeccable considering the news on the release of Boba Fett's series and the upcoming The Mandalorian Season 3.Besides, Marvel also teased the crossover in an image where Fett wears a shiny black costume carrying a spear. Soule clarified that this crossover is designated to lay the groundwork for the future of the franchise.

Soule expresses "War of the Bounty Hunters is a story about Boba Fett doing his thing, but it builds into something much bigger, and that's what the best comic crossovers and big stories do. They tell a great story in and of themselves, but they're also the start of something, and they open a lot of new doors and this story will absolutely do that."

This is, by far, the latest example of Marvel's Star Wars line up which aims to bridge the gaps in the timeline and fill in the plot holes.
