With every new Star Wars movie comes new droids and aliens, and The Rise of Skywalker will be giving us one Babu Frik. The character had actually been introduced in toy form during the live stream for Triple Force Friday, but now StarWars.com has given us an official image as well as a character description.

According to the site, Babu "works among the Spice Runners of Kijimi and can reprogram or modify virtually any droid — regardless of the security measures protecting its systems."

It's likely that Babu will have something to do with the reprogrammed C-3PO. We don't know if he's the cause of it, but it's likely 3PO will be brought to him so that Babu could bring back the protocol droid we all know and love. Now that I think of it, maybe it's possible that Babu could make an appearance in Disney+'s Cassian Andor series, and he could be the one to reprogram K-2SO for the Rebellion.

It's said that the media push for The Rise of Skywalker starts this week, so we should expect more character images and clips to come out soon. Hopefully, this will all culminate in a full trailer for TROS, possibly even giving us our first onscreen look at the Sith Troopers as well as a returning Emperor Palpatine. Let's just hope that Lucasfilm doesn't manage to spoil anything with marketing. Then again, they've done a really good job with the past films, I'm sure they'll be extra careful with something as big as the end of the Sequel Trilogy.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker when it comes out Dec. 20.
