Star Wars to be Adapted to Cinestory Comics

Getting a slice of Disney's Star Wars license pie is something that a lot of publishers and related businesses would love to get their hands on. And this time, another comic book publisher—now the third in the slew of collaborators—to get cinestories rolling out as adaptations of the original Star Wars movies and Star Wars Rebels episodes.

According to Newsarama, Joe Books is not bringing the two branches of the franchise to life cinestory style, something that is a favored adaptation for films and TVs to bring it to the medium.

"When Star Wars: A New Hope premiered in theaters forty years ago, it launched enduring characters that continue to resonate with children and adults alike We could not be more excited to be celebrating such a milestone with this unique publishing opportunity that allows fans to explore the film that started it all in a brand-new format."

A cinestory is basically making use of some of the stills from the original movie material and laying out traditional comic dialogues from a nice special effect.

The first in a series of cinestories is Spark of Rebellion: A Star Wars Rebels Cinestory Comic, This will come out in August, followed shortly by Star Wars: A New Hope Cinestory Comic. From the Star Wars Rebels adaptation, you have Path of Jedi coming in November. Maul will be the star of the next one launching in February 2018 while another fan-favorite villainous antihero Grand Admiral Thrawn sometime in May next year.
