We've all heard about how the cast and crew of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker simply couldn't stop gushing about the final scene of Episode IX. Interestingly, the scene may have leaked and it's going to shock everyone.
WARNING: Possible Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker spoilers below, proceed with caution.
With that out of the way, let's dive into the scene that was described by Making Star Wars which brings Rey to a planet that we're all familiar with.
"The end of the film has Rey at the Lars homestead where Luke Skywalker grew up. A local sees Rey and comments they haven't seen anyone near this place in a long time and the local woman asks Rey's name to which she answers 'Rey, Rey Skywalker.'"
Could this be the mind-melting final scene that everyone including composer John Williams couldn't stop teasing about? It's certainly an amazing moment if it happens. After all, we have all been curious about Rey's surname for some time now. It would be a cool way to end the Skywalker Saga but still tease on what the future will hold for this character.
The idea of Rey being a Skywalker isn't something new. It's actually one of the first theories that came out when Star Wars: The Force Awakens was announced and Daisy Ridley's character was introduced. However, it seems like there's no familial connection to any of the Skywalkers at all. Nevertheless, everything could finally be explained in The Rise of Skywalker.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
