Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Reshoots Involve Surprising Scene With A New Alien

The premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is only a few months away but the cast and crew of Episode IX are currently busy reshooting a certain scene for the movie. Interestingly, the scene reportedly involves a strange new creature that will force Rey to use her powers to their full extent.

The report comes from Making Star Wars which confirms that The Rise of Skywalker is currently undergoing some major reshoots. The report reveals that the most important scene that is being tweaked involves the heroes going up against "a sandworm alien." During the fight, the creature is injured badly and Rey somehow uses "an inexplicable new superpower" to heal the worm.

There is little doubt that this is going to be a scene that will have people talking. After all, Rey already seems too powerful as she is but can she truly use the Force to heal someone? We'll find out for sure this December.

Another interesting part of the report is the idea of the sandworm. You're welcome to make all the Dune jokes you can find but I was pretty sure that there were weird worm creatures hiding in all the sand in Tatooine. This should explain why Anakin Skywalker wasn't a big fan of sand. On the other hand, there's always a possibility that this sandworm might be similar to the Sarlacc Pit featured in Return of the Jedi.

It is still unclear for how long the reshoots will continue. In the meantime, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is scheduled for release on December 20.
