Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Title Translation Reveals Luke’s Resurrection

The Star Wars community was buzzing with all sorts of theories after Lucasfilm dropped the very first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX. Not only did the teaser drop major reveals like the return of Palpatine, but it also unveiled the film's official title, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Some believed that the title was a reference to Rey's (Daisy Ridley) parentage. Others viewed it as a reference to a new kind of Jedi.

Now, a new theory suggests something else entirely – the full resurrection of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker.

A Polish Star Wars fan just recently opened up about Episode IX's title on Twitter and according to the tweet, the title can be directly translated to Star Wars: Skywalker Resurrection.

"So they finally revealed the title of episode IX in my language (polish). In direct translation it means "Star Wars: Skywalker Resurrection". I wonder if it has any hidden meaning behind?" the post reveals.

Could the translation really point to the actual physical return of Luke? Sure, Lucasfilm might have announced Hamill's return back in 2018, but many in the Star Wars community continue to believe that the actor may simply be reprising his role in flashbacks or in force ghost sequences. After all, Star Wars: The Last Jedi did its best to give Luke a dramatic ending, saving the Resistance and then fading off into the Force under the light of a twin-sun in Ahch-To.

If this Polish translation is to be trusted, then we may get to see Luke doing more in the film – though we highly doubt that J.J. Abrams would retcon a major event like Luke's death.

What do you think? Are we going to see Luke's resurrection in Episode IX? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.
