Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Rumored Flashback Brings Together Luke, Leia, And Han

There's a lot of anticipation building up over Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not only is the film going to culminate the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but it's also set to end the 40 year Skywalker saga that began with Star Wars: A New Hope. There have been multiple rumors about what fans might expect from the film, and according to one of the most recent reports, viewers might get to see a surprising and emotional flashback sequence in the film.

According to Making Star Wars, rumor from a trusted source says that fans are going to get a flashback sequence in The Rise of Skywalker featuring Leia (the late Carrie Fisher), Han Solo (Harrison Ford), and Luke Skywalker all together in one sequence . This sequence would likely be taken after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, exploring why Leia never really tried pursuing the path of a Jedi despite her connection with the Force.

While fans might be concerned about how Lucasfilm manages to create the scene knowing how Fisher is no longer with us to film new footage and how Hamill and Harrison have aged, the studio can try to use old footage for the flashback. Or they could use visual effects technology to de-age Ford and Hamill and to bring back Fisher.

But then again, this rumor could all really lead to nothing. We'll just have to wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX is set to premiere on December 20, 2019.
