Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Reveals Rey's True Lightsaber Color

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was an interesting movie, to say the least. While it would be hard to classify the movie as "good," given all of its flaws, there was definitely a certain level of enjoyment to be had. No matter how you feel about the movie, seeing Rey's true lightsaber, in the end, was pretty awesome, showing us her true colors (literally).

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER

After Rey finally defeats Emperor Palpatine, almost dying in the process had Kylo Ren not appeared in the last minute, Rey decides to visit her homeworld, seemingly for one last time. As the "last" Jedi buries the lightsabers of Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa, she then brings out her lightsaber, showing fans around the world that her true color is yellow.

We're not sure why they went with yellow but we'll take it over blue and green, two colors that have been badly overused in this series. Even the default lightsaber for Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is blue unless you pre-order the game to get orange or progress later on to get your new lightsaber crystal, where you can choose the color.

How hilarious would it have been if they just showed Rey bringing out her lightsaber handle and never turning it on? Fans would be debating with each other for years on end until the color is officially revealed in a movie/comic/book released years later.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now showing in theaters.
