New Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker TIE Fighter Description Rumors

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is going to introduced a TIE variant called the TIE Dagger, but it looks like there're going to be some new ships for the Sith troopers as well. As for the First Order troops, it looks like they'll be getting some new vehicles as well.

This comes from Bespin Bulletin on Instagram:

The Sith Troopers are also receiving their own TIE, unsurprisingly called, "Sith TIE Fighter". The Sith TIE is eerily similar to the TIE Dagger with its pointed wings but it has a red design with the centre of the wings being black. There are then two other variants, the "Special Forces TIE Fighter" and "TIE Whisper Fighter" that look extremely similar to one another but the ‘Whisper' has a larger, bulkier cockpit like Kylo's TIE Fighter.

We don't have any official images of these new TIEs yet, but the cover for the TROS visual dictionary did give us a look at the Dagger. Hopefully with the D23 Expo we get official looks at these supposed Whisper Fighters and the Special Forces TIE.

What's interesting is Kylo Ren isn't bringing back his TIE Silencer from The Last Jedi. It's assumed that he's the one piloting the TIE in the teaser for The Rise of Skywalker, and it looks closer to the TIE Interceptor from the original trilogy.

Hopefully this will be all cleared up soon. I guess the internet is just full of speculation right now since Lucasfilm has been keeping a tight lid on the film. By the time December comes though, I'm sure we're going to be sick of all the promos giving us a look at all the new stuff.

Catch Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in theaters Dec. 20.
