Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker served as the final installment of the Skywalker Saga which means it ought to provide some answers to the fans' questions. While there were tons of surprises in the film, it also had a few plotholes.

After their battle at Kef Bir, Rey took Kylo Ren's TIE fighter and crashed on Ach-To where she unexpectedly encountered Luke Skywalker. After a much-needed pep talk, Rey decided to go to Exegol, but she doesn't have a ride. The Jedi Master then used the Force to levitate his old X-Wing out of deep waters for Rey to use. However, fans noticed a Last Jedi plot hole in this scene.

In The Last Jedi art book, it was revealed that Luke sunk his X-Wing and used some parts for scrap on his new home. This means that the ship shouldn't be readily usable for Rey in Episode IX. That being said, the movie's novelization actually addresses this matter.

"It was old tech," the book reads (via Screen Rant). "And it had taken some fast thinking and even faster fingers to get it flight worthy - the wing patched with the door to Luke's hut, shield panels scavenged from the TIE wreckage, and a hefty amount of rewiring."

The book basically indicates that Rey spent some time repairing the vehicle off-screen and the movie just proceeded to cut to the part where she was able to ride it all the way to Exogol to face his grandfather. The book also mentioned that the X-Wing is actually barely usable and it might "never fight again" without the help of Rose Tico "and her parts-requisition channels."

This is only one of the said scenes that fans pointed out in the film. Given that there's a lot of things to address, it is understandable that all these details weren't in the film. However, some fans feel like other information should have been included, specifically more details of Palpatine's return.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is available on digital on March 17.
