It's been about two months since Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker made its debut and its comic book adaptation will be arriving soon. While the comic is expected to include scenes that were already in the movie, there will also be some extended and deleted scenes with new elements that fans will be excited to learn about.

Speaking with Star Wars, writer Jody Houser shared some details on bringing Episode IX to comics. "I think one of the great things about adaptations in other mediums is you do get the chance to build out elements of the story there may not have been time or a place for on the screen," she said when asked how she has deepened the story through comics. Houser says this gives light to new scenes and gives creators a chance "to add to the story" instead of just "translating it for the page."

Houser was also asked which moment she's looking forward to recreating in the pages. However, she admits that she's more "excited" about some of the new things they will be adding, including "moments from the movie with elements we didn't get to see on screen." Of course, she describes this vaguely, but she can't go into detail yet to avoid saying some spoilers.

What she did reveal is the inclusion of the Ben Solo shrug scene. Houser says since it's a fan-favorite moment and shows off his similarities with his father Han Solo, it would be "hard" to leave that part out.
