Star Wars: The Mandalorian’s Early Reviews Promise an Epic New Take on the Franchise


Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian has yet to release, but it looks like first reactions to the highly anticipated Star Wars series have begun making their way online.

Lucasfilm screened about 27 minutes of The Mandalorian over the weekend to give fans a taste of the upcoming Star Wars series it has prepared for Disney's new streaming site, Disney+, and it looks like the press members who got to see the footage were pretty impressed by what they saw.

Early responses to the preview were unanimously positive, with reviews calling the series a fresh new take on the franchise. Not only do the journalists at the early screening call the series something that "feels completely different than anything we've seen in the Star Wars universe," but they also say that the show feels like a "big-scale movie, not a tv series."

It looks like The Mandalorian is looking to be good. The Star Wars franchise is headed towards a new direction now that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is closing the curtain on the Skywalker saga, and it's good to hear that Favreau's new series is going to leading the franchise a pretty bright path.

Set in the outer rim of everyone's favorite galaxy far, far away, The Mandalorian is set to follow the adventures of a bounty hunter played by Game of Thrones and Narcos actor Pedro Pascal. The Kingsman star is going to be joined by Giancarlo Esposito, Gina Carano, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Nick Nolte, Taika Waititi, Omid Abtahi, and Werner Herzog.

Star Wars: The Mandalorian premieres on November 12, 2019.
