One of the biggest releases of Star Wars on Disney+ would definitely be The Mandalorian and having two successful seasons, it is no surprise that a third season has been confirmed by its creator Jon Favreau. Now, rumors are swirling up as season 3 production would push through sometime in late 2021 to early 2022, possibly hinting that it would be released in late 2022.

During the Investor Day of Disney, it was announced by Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, that The Mandalorian will be having its next chapter. Here, everything could change just before the First Order brought the New Republic government to its knees. The radical shift in space politics happens between The Mandalorian (9 ABY) and The Force Awakens (34 ABY) so currently, the galaxy is still taking in the loss of Empire in Return of the Jedi.

As reported by Production Weekly, the third season of The Mandalorian with a working title of "Huckleberry" would start shooting on September 20, just this month, and would go until March 23, 2022. That means the earliest possible airing of the show would be in late 2022 given the factor that they will still have to go through various post-processing before totally wrapping it up and airing it. Such a tedious process could take months before being fully realized.

The Mandalorian was one of the best shows for Disney+ in terms of viewership especially before Marvel's arrival on the small screen. There is more to come in the Star Wars Saga as more series and films are announced by Lucasfilms and Disney+ to be added to the saga's roster such as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, Rangers of the New Republic, Patty Jenkins' Rogue Squadron, and a Taika Waititi film with no title yet.

The Mandalorian Season 3 will possibly be released in late 2022 via Disney+.
