Star Wars: The Mandalorian Season 3 Production Shows Sequel Trilogy’s Major Flaws

Disney might have had trouble with recent Star Wars movies like, but the House of Mouse has managed to get one thing right: Star Wars: The Mandalorian.

Sure, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker might have ended up being another divisive entry in the Star Wars sequel trilogy with its excessive fanservice, however, The Mandalorian has proven to be a massive success for the franchise, uniting a divided fanbase.

Now, as fans patiently wait for the second season of Jon Favreau's hit Star Wars series, Showbiz Cheatsheet points out the main reason why The Mandalorian is doing better than Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy. Last week, word came out that Favreau was already developing a third batch of episodes for the live-action Star Wars series. The second season of The Mandalorian hasn't even come out, and yet, the Iron Man director had already been working on the third season.

In Variety's report, Favreau had already been writing the third batch of episodes "for a while" Not only that, but The Mandalorian art department has already begun pre-production work for season 3. These are all clear indications that Favreau has been working on an outline of The Mandalorian from the very start – not going along blindly.

This is a whole lot different from the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and one of the main reasons why the series has been succeeding.
