Dark Rey Dons Kylo Ren’s Helmet in Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Concept Art

Star Wars teased the idea of Rey falling to the Dark Side in a trailer released for The Rise of Skywalker prior to its release. Revealed in the film, this turned out to be a vision only. However, the heroine could have turned much, much darker in the movie, even following the footsteps of her very own rival.

In a concept art recently released by artist Adam Brockbank on Instagram, Rey dons Kylo Ren's trademark helmet. Being one of the many pieces he shared on his account, Brockbank says they were from the early pre-production of the movie. This suggests that there was a point where they actually considered Rey taking Kylo's place, or that there could have been more visions of how far she went into the Dark Side. You can check out the piece below!

Dark Rey's final appearance stuck close to her aesthetic for a cohesive look between the Dark Side and the Light Side version of the character. That said, donning Kylo Ren's helmet would have given her an even scarier vibe, as well as an effective way of taking the pair's connection to her look as well. Not to mention the addition of the Sith yellow eyes.

As much as it would have been intriguing to see Dark Rey on the big screen and find out what she would have become, and what she'll do in the future, it's probably best for Rey to embrace the Light Side and do what's right.
