We already know that The Mandalorian is filled with exciting action sequences. But what are the chances that the Star Wars series will actually feature lightsaber duels? Giancarlo Esposito has just confirmed that The Mandalorian Season 2 will have some "epic lightsaber action."
Esposito made an appearance at the Fan Expo Vancouver where he discussed the upcoming season of the Star Wars show. Interestingly, the Maze Runner: The Death Cure star teased on The Mandalorian bringing in more lightsabers later this year.
"The prop guys are wondering about me because I was in a bit of a commotion and a bit of a struggle with someone else, which I'm hoping you will enjoy when you see it," Esposito said before adding that Moff Gideon isn't the only one who will wield the elegant weapon in Season 2.
"Major, major, epic, epic lightsaber action happening on this show, and I should mention that I'm the only character in this first season who was able to be honored with having that lightsaber. So it feels wonderful," Esposito stated.
This sounds fitting considering that we already got a glimpse at Gideon holding the Darksaber in the previous season finale. Needless to say, the only acceptable way to use that weapon again is to pit it against a lightsaber and we can't wait to see that soon.
The Mandalorian Season 2 is currently in production. The series is then expected to return on Disney+ in October.
