The first season of The Mandalorian may have just concluded but it looks like Disney and Lucasfilm already has huge plans for the future. The second season of the wildly successful Star Wars series has just been given a release date.
The revelation comes from The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau who decided to drop the good news on his official Instagram account. In addition to that, he included a photo of what appears to be a Gamorrean. Check it out below.
It's awesome to see that The Mandalorian Season 2 might actually feature the gruff aliens that once served as Jabba the Hutt's guards in Return of the Jedi. But could this mean that the Hutts will finally appear on the Disney+ series? We can't confirm it right now but it's an exciting possibility.
Favreau had previously confirmed that the second season of The Mandalorian is currently being filmed, which means that the series is right on track for a late 2020 premiere. Hopefully, this means we'll be getting some new updates about Din Djarin as well as Baby Yoda really soon.
The first season of The Mandalorian concluded with Djarin and Baby Yoda being declared a clan of two as the bounty hunter was given the task to find the Child's people. This could mean we will learn about the mysterious species that is seemingly powerful with the Force and could play a larger role in the future of Star Wars.
The Mandalorian Season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+. The second season is expected to drop in Fall 2020.
