Star Wars: The Mandalorian Possibly Confirms What Happened to 4-LOM

Remember when The Mandalorian was still being filmed and there were so many speculations about which Star Wars characters will appear in the series? At one point, it was believed that the droid bounty hunter 4-LOM will show up along with IG-88 in the Disney+ show. Interestingly, some concept art for The Mandalorian may have confirmed that 4-LOM was supposed to make an appearance and his fate has been revealed.

4-LOM first appeared alongside Zuckuss, IG-88, and Boba Fett as one of the bounty hunters that were tasked by Darth Vader to capture Han Solo in The Empire Strikes Back. We now know that the droid and his companion were unable to take the bounty since Boba was the one who brought Han to Vader (and later to Jabba the Hutt).

But is it possible that 4-LOM continued to take bounties even after the fall of the Galactic Empire? The Mandalorian concept art shared by the show's official Twitter account could reveal what happened to 4-LOM. Check it out below.

The artwork created by Ryan Church and Nick Gindraux shows the titular Mandalorian looking at the target as other bounty hunters lay dead at his feet. The droid on the right side of the image is IG-11, who tried to kill Baby Yoda. On the left side of the illustration, you can clearly see 4-LOM.

Now we're not sure exactly what happened but it's possible that 4-LOM was originally planned to show up in The Mandalorian as one of the bounty hunters sent to procure the target. Perhaps creator Jon Favreau eventually decided against using 4-LOM but the concept art confirms that the droid was part of original plans for the show.

The Mandalorian Chapter 3: The Sin is currently streaming on Disney+.
