Pedro Pascal might be the lead star in Jon Favreau's Star Wars: The Mandalorian, however, there's this strange theory circulating online saying that the actor may very well be playing a female character in the Star Wars live-action series.
According to a report by Cosmic Book News, there's a new Star Wars theory circulating on message boards on 4Chan which suggests that The Mandalorian may offer up another major twist in its narrative ā that Mando is actually a female bounty hunter.
The past three episodes of the series have made it pretty clear that Mandalorian's aren't allowed to take off their helmet (at least in public), so fans have been wondering whether or not The Mandalorian's lone warrior is really a man or a woman with the voice of Pedro Pascal. Some are suspecting that Lucasfilm may be using a bait and switch tactic to help forward the push for representation and diversity in the series.
This seems like a pretty odd fan theory. Sure, we have yet to see the Mandalorian's real face underneath the mask, however, leaked pictures from the series show that Pascal really is playing the bounty hunter in the series.
The warrior's build also seems pretty manly. The female Mandalorian who builds armor in the series has a much larger breastplate, one that accommodates her chest size.
Of course, while fans might not have anything to worry about, gender reveals have been made in the franchise before. Enfys Nest in Solo: Star Wars Story was believed to be a male villain, however, it was later on revealed that the character was a woman fighting alongside the Rebellion.
Let's just wait and see what's to come.
