Star Wars: The Mandalorian has been a massive success for Lucasfilm. After a succession of controversial film releases, The Mandalorian has been a welcome respite for the Star Wars franchise. Jon Favreau's hit Star Wars series has managed to unite a fractured fanbase under the banner of Mando (Pedro Pascal) and his doe-eyed wrinkly ward, Baby Yoda.
There's been so much love for The Mandalorian. But what exactly does George Lucas think of the popular Star Wars show?
Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about all things The Mandalorian, executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are asked what Lucas thinks of the hit Star Wars series.
However, while fans seem to take The Mandalorian as a return to form for the Star Wars franchise, Lucas doesn't seem to have as much feedback for the series, though it seems like he does enjoy the show.
"Not a tremendous amount," Filoni responds when asked what kind of feedback the team's gotten from Lucas for the first season of the show, "We talk about other stuff. When I talk with him, I like to get more knowledge. He'll give me some reminders, especially before I shoot something, about how many setups I should try to get in a day, and I might rack his brain for certain things about how to cover a scene."
That doesn't mean that Lucas doesn't enjoy The Mandalorian though.
"He's been very complimentary. I think he's enjoyed the show, and he said once [that] now he gets to watch it as a fan and watch it as a viewer. My job is to bring that knowledge forward and pass on what I've learned from him in every discipline to Jon and to the creative departments," Filoni added.
We wonder what Lucas might say about the second season of the series. Everyone's eager to know what might happen to Mando and to Baby Yoda in the episodes to come.
