Star Wars: The Mandalorian Episode 4 Reveals New Details About Mando's Helmet

The explosive fourth episode of The Mandalorian is finally out and it delivers exactly what people wanted: more Baby Yoda. However, Chapter Four: Sanctuary also revealed some interesting new details about Mando and why he never removes his helmet.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers from The Mandalorian Episode 4! Proceed with caution.

In Chapter Four: Sanctuary, Mando and his adorable companion head for Sorgan, a seemingly quiet planet where a peaceful village is repeatedly attacked by raiders who take their food. Mando and Baby Yoda are unaware of all this as they go to a bar where they meet Cara Dune, a mercenary who is trying to keep a low profile on the planet.

At first, Mando and Cara end up fighting as they believe the other is a bounty hunter sent to go after them. Luckily, it becomes clear that they're both just seeking sanctuary on the planet. Unfortunately, that doesn't last very long for them as some villagers beg them to help them get rid of the raiders.

It's in the same village that Mando meets Omega, a lovely villager he instantly bonds with. Through Omera, we learn that Mando has kept his helmet on since he was a kid although he does remove it when he has to eat (thanks for that bit of information). However, he refuses to remove it around other people, even his fellow Mandalorians.

For some reason, the helmet discussion goes on for a long time. Additionally, Omera's attempt to remove the helmet was somehow a big deal for Mando. She almost gets the thing off but he stops her at the last second. I'm not sure why but it could mean that the helmet is coming off by the end of the season.

The fourth episode of The Mandalorian is directed by Bryce Dallas Howard and is currently streaming on Disney+.
