Star Wars: The Mandalorian Chapter 4 Featured Major Return of the Jedi, Rebels Easter Eggs

It seems like The Mandalorian continues to deliver some awesome Easter Eggs and this week is no different. There are two notable Easter Eggs in Chapter Four: Sanctuary. While the first one is a direct reference to the original Star Wars trilogy films The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the other one actually brings a Star Wars Rebels creature into live-action.

BEWARE: SPOILERS AHEAD, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

In The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 4, Mando and Baby Yoda make their way to a seemingly peaceful planet. However, it is later revealed that a certain village is being attacked by raiders who are taking their food. The villagers eventually beg Mando and his new friend Cara Dune to help defend their village and it turns out that the raiders have an interesting secret weapon.

The raiders have been using an AT-ST, which was last seen being used by the Galactic Empire against the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. Not surprisingly, the scenes featuring the chicken walker will give you major Episode VI nostalgia. I'm not saying that the villagers looked like furry little critters but the sharpened spears were a nice touch.

The Star Wars Rebels Easter Egg comes a bit earlier when Mando and Baby Yoda head into a bar where they encounter Gina Carano's character. The scene actually offers a glimpse at a live-action Loth-cat like the ones that Ezra Bridger and Kanan Jarrus interact with in the animated series.
