It looks like yet another character from the original trilogy will be returning in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. A new featurette has just teased the return of Wicket as well as other Ewoks in Episode IX.
The featurette offers a behind-the-scenes look at the Skywalker Saga and covers just about every film starting with A New Hope to The Rise of Skywalker. We get to see a lot of awesome BTS footage from the past and the present. However, fans have zeroed in on a brief shot of Warwick Davis in his Wicket costume.
So does this confirm that the Ewoks will return in Episode IX? It appears to be new footage that is featured in the latter part of the video and Davis looks a lot older than he was when he first played Wicket in Return of the Jedi (he was a kid back then, remember?). In addition to that, there are speculations that Rey is actually training in Endor in the scene that appears in the trailers.
The idea of Rey training in Endor is definitely a welcome one as it would mean that Wicket will be reunited with General Leia Organa, who also appears to be in the same scene as Rey in the trailers. For now, we can't confirm this but it's something that we are already looking forward to in the film.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker hits theaters on December 20.
