Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trends as Fans Debate Whether it's Actually Good or Not

It's no secret that Disney's Star Wars sequel trilogy is considered by many as the thing that nearly killed the science-fiction franchise and the film that generates the most discussion is Episode VIII aka The Last Jedi. The 2017 film, helmed by Rian Johnson is arguably the most visually breathtaking Skywalker saga film there is but despite it being a feast in the eyes, longtime fans of the franchise found fault with its overall feel and presentation.

For starters, avid Star Wars fans believe that the film was poorly written and executed. They also didn't like how overly humorous it ended up being but the biggest issue most people had with the film was the characterization of Luke Skywalker. Still, despite The Last Jedi having legions of critics, Episode VIII actually has a cult following that even hail the divisive project as the best Star Wars film of all time.

Unsurprisingly, five years after the film was released, people are still debating over TLJ and there's a hot discourse on Twitter about whether or not The Last Jedi is actually a good Star Wars film. As expected, the opinions vary. Check out some of the reactions below:
