Star Wars: The Last Jedi Comic Gives Admiral Ackbar some Dying Words

A lot of people have something to say about Star Wars: The Last Jedi and one of the more common complaints was that legacy character Admiral Ackbar got an unceremonious death. Thanks to The Last Jedi comic, however, Ackbar gets to go out with some heroic last words.

Though I would've loved to see a scene like this play out, I can understand that the scene had more to do with Leia than any other character. Cutting to Ackbar would probably have drawn focus away from her if it was added.

As for the scene where everyone insisted that it was Ackbar that should have taken the place of Holdo, I'm pretty sure Rian Johnson had to kill all the familiar general characters so that Poe Dameron would have an antagonist in the movie. Without Holdo, Dameron would have felt like a character that went nowhere, just following orders from the higher-ups. Johnson needed Holdo so someone could antagonize Poe and challenge his character.

Though there are some very outspoken haters of this movie, I still love the film. I thought Johnson took some very interesting risks; and though some fans may have hated it, the kids don't seem to mind.
