Star Wars: The High Republic Brand New YA Novel Gets Exciting New Excerpt

Star Wars fans may have to wait a while for Lucasfilm to begin working on upcoming Star Wars films, however, that doesn't mean that the production of Star Wars material is going on a full halt. Not only does Lucasfilm have a string of live-action series set for release on Disney+ (including the second season of Star Wars: The Mandalorian), but it also has a brand new media franchise set to launch in 2021.

Originally marketed as Project Luminous, Star Wars: The High Republic is Lucasfilm's exciting new media franchise set during the era of the High Republic, 200 years before the events of the Skywalker saga. Lucasfilm has slowly been announcing novels and comics under The High Republic banner, and today, the studio offers fans a brand new excerpt from Justina Ireland's brand new novel, Star Wars: The High Republic: A Test of Courage.

A middle-grade novel, the book follows the story of Vernestra Rwoh, a Jedi fresh out of the academy. The book takes fans to new places in the galaxy far, far away as it offers a brand new adventure with Vernestra stranded on a jungle moon. Not only does Vernestra have to fight to stay alive, but she has to uncover the mystical secrets of the planet as well.

The excerpt is rather long so you can check it out through this link right here.

It's a thrilling piece, and we can't wait to read more of the book when it releases. A Test of Courage is set for release together with the first wave of High Republic titles next year on January 5, 2021.
