Star Wars: The Force Awakens Bushido Art

It is known that the visual style of Star Wars was heavily-influenced by Akira Kurosawa's great samurai films. Obi-Wan Kenobi's robes look like something that Toshio Mifune might wear in one of Kurosawa's films. George Lucas even described how Kurosawa's visual style influenced him. Now, LuluDubYou has created a Bushido-style Star Wars: The Force Awakens art to remind us of the space opera's roots, and the result is beautiful. We see Rey in geisha fashion, Poe Dameron, Finn, Captain Phasma, and Kylo Ren looking fierce with his samurai attire. We also see Darth Vader's burned helmet. And the flock of birds probably represents X-Wings.

Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen someone Star Wars and Japanese culture. Check out the Misho samurai Star Wars figures and you can also listen to Darth Vader speak Japanese in different Star Wars films
