Star Wars: The Clone Wars Writer Confirms Wolffe Took Part In Order 66

Commander Wolffe is certainly one of the most beloved Clone Troopers that appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Although it is believed that Captain Rex convinced CC-3636 to remove his chip to avoid killing the Jedi, show writer Henry Gilroy has confirmed that Wolffe may have taken part in Order 66.

We all know that Order 66 enlisted the Clone Troopers to kill almost all of the Jedi in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Some Troopers managed to stop themselves from joining the massacre by removing their chips sometime after the Clone Wars. However, Gilroy says that Wolffe didn't remove his chip in time, as revealed by Star Wars Explained in a tweet.

It's hard to imagine that Wolffe would actually murder the Jedi he and his squad have been tasked to protect. After all, he did sacrifice an eye while fighting on Anakin Skywalker's side in a battle on Khorm. Unfortunately, if he still had his chip on, there is a huge possibility that Wolffe acted despite his own attachment to the Jedi.

So did he remove his chip before Order 66? We may finally find out in the final season of The Clone Wars. The seventh season will likely cover the actual Clone Wars and confirm if Wolffe actually did what Rex told him to do.

The Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 premiere date has not yet been announced. However, the animated series is set to be available on Disney's streaming service in early 2019.
