Star Wars: The Clone Wars 'Unfinished Business' Clip Shows a Different Side of Mace Windu

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 has been an impressive piece of entertainment, not only living up to the expectations of nostalgic fans but exceeding them by giving us great standalone stories. Fans are already in love with the Bad Batch but everyone wants to see how this show intersects with Revenge of the Sith; something Unfinished Business might deal with since it stars Obi-Wan Kenobi and Mace Windu.

However, what might shock fans of the Star Wars prequels is that it shows a different side of the Jedi and Mace Windu. When they break into a base filled with droids, instead of chopping all of them up, Mace actually gives them the opportunity to surrender. This is something that no Jedi has ever done in the Star Wars movies or shows since they treat these droids as expendable cannon fodder, even if they themselves are friends with droids.

It's actually nice seeing Mace be peaceful to the droids before chopping them up to pieces. The move is so shocking that even Obi-Wan is surprised since he's also used to killing these droids without remorse. Sadly, it doesn't go anywhere and I'm not sure if they'll treat the enemy droids anymore differently but there are still more episodes to go, so you'll never know.

Compare this to how Rey interacts with BB-8 or D-0 in the recent movies and you can see why some people want the Jedi to die. Too soon?

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 airs weekly on the Disney+ streaming service. Unfinished Business airs later this week.
