Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Cut Out a Gruesome Scene From Episode 3

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 has been nothing but excellent, giving fans great Star Wars stories that range from being self-contained and weird to canonically important. We're still in the self-contained and weird stage, which is fine since fans love those kinds of stories from The Clone Wars, though it seems like more important story beats will be coming sooner or later.

The Clone Wars and Star Wars, in general, have a reputation for being a pretty violent franchise that's catered to kids, though they seem to get away with that since there's almost no blood and most of the violence happens to aliens. However, even some moments are a little too violent for this franchise as a scene from The Clone Wars Season 7, Episode 3, On the Wings of Keeradaks, had a pretty violent scene that was cut out altogether.

According to ScreenRant, the original story reels for season 7 that were made available online long ago had a scene where Wat Tambor sends a deadly droid called The Decimator to kill Rex, The Bad Batch, and Anakin Skywalker. In the Disney+ version, The Decimator is just seen as some sort of boss for the heroes to overcome and escape, which mostly happens. However, in the original story reels, The Decimator's power is showcased on a poor Poletec, as its energy tendrils kill the poor thing and, hoo boy, turn it into goo.

Look, The Clone Wars is no stranger to death. Earlier episodes had characters getting killed by getting sucked into space or being electrocuted to death, along with being blasted and slashed. However, it seems like witnessing a living being getting turned into goo was a bit much and we can see why it was removed. Nasty.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 is now airing its episodes weekly on the Disney+ streaming service.
