Star Wars: The Clone Wars is making its glorious comeback next year and fans could not be more excited. This animated series carved a place into the hearts of many fans and getting a brand-new season that will finally give viewers some closure is more than enough to please them. It will be interesting to see how the series sets up the events for Revenge of the Sith and Rebels.
Fans curious about episode-length need not worry, as Obi-Wan Kenobi voice actor James Arnold Taylor revealed that the series will still have 22-minute episodes. This isn't bad news at all, though fans hoping these episodes would be a bit longer will probably be disappointed. Of course, we could get lengthy episodes for the first and last episode, but everything else should be standard.
What fans are more curious about is the number of episodes that will be in the final season. There are a lot of loose ends to tie up, not to mention setting up the events of Episode 3 and Rebels, so we can only hope that the creators are given enough episodes to work on. As long as it doesn't feel rushed or forced, fans will probably be okay with whatever number of episodes are given.
Rebels gave fans some information about the post-Clone Wars timeline. We know that Ashoka manages to survive these events and actually lives past Return of the Jedi, which really surprised a lot of folks. Resistance is expected to fill in even more of this, though we might not be seeing Ashoka in this new series as it will focus on a new set of characters.
The new season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars is set to debut on Disney's streaming platform sometime next year, yet it's unclear when in 2019 that will be taking place. The new season will consist of 12 episodes.
