Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Premiere Reveals Shocking Discovery for Captain Rex

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 is finally here and it doesn't waste any time getting into the action with The Bad Batch. Interestingly, the premiere episode also had a shocking plot twist that could change things for Captain Rex.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers from The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 1. Proceed with caution.

In The Bad Batch, we are reunited with the heroes as they struggle on the planet Anexes where the Clone armies are close to being defeated. But how exactly is the enemy able to predict their moves? Rex and his men are eager to find out but they'll need some help. Not surprisingly, their secret weapon is Clone Force 99.

Enter the Bad Batch, who we already know is a squad of mutated clones with enhanced abilities. The episode immediately throws them into action and shows off one of the great advantages of the final season's delay: the fight sequences are jaw-dropping and definitely worth the wait. But while there is little doubt that Squad 99 is something to look forward to in the future episodes, The Bad Batch still manages to put the focus on Rex.

We already know that Rex has been struggling with a lot in the past six seasons of The Clone Wars. One of the things he still has a problem dealing with is the death of Echo. But is Echo really dead?

With the help of Squad 99, Rex makes it behind enemy lines and discovers that the Separatist forces have been using a living command computer to counter Republic battle tactics. The intel is so precise that Rex can't help but believe that the computer is actually Echo, who may have survived the events in the Season 3 finale.

So is Echo somehow alive? And can Rex save him? We may soon find out in the next episode.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 1 is currently streaming on Disney+.
