The latest episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 is finally here and it confirms something that everyone has been expecting right from the start: The Clone War is over and we now know how it all ended.

WARNING: The following contains spoilers from Star Wars: The Clone Wars Season 7 Episode 11. Proceed with caution.

In Shattered, it seemed like everything was going as planned. Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex finally left Mandalore with the captured Darth Maul, who would be presented to the Jedi Council on Coruscant. We also get a touching moment between Ahsoka and Rex as they reflect on what will happen now that the war is over. Unfortunately, this episode doesn't have a happy ending.

As they leave for Coruscant, Ahsoka suddenly senses Anakin Skywalker as he falls into the Dark Side. It was in the same moment that Darth Sidious tells Rex to execute Order 66. This leads to a tense stand-off between the two as Ahsoka fights for her life while the other Clone Troopers attack.

Luckily, Ahsoka manages to escape and somehow subdues Rex. She then realizes that the only way to prevent Rex from trying to kill her is to remove his chip implant. With the help of astromech droids, Ahsoka manages to take the chip out and restore Rex's free will. However, they are still trapped inside the ship with the Clone Troopers who once fought beside her now ready to kill her.
