Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Teases Omega's Backstory, Possible Spin-Off Plans

It's almost time for Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 and there is little doubt that fans are already looking forward to seeing Clone Force 99 with their most recent addition Omega. So what can we expect in the second season of the returning series? Head writer Jennifer Corbett teases more details about Omega's backstory will be explored and addresses the possibility of the young clone getting a little spin-off of her own.

In the first season of The Bad Batch, it was confirmed that Omega is a clone just like the rest of the Bad Batch. But why did the Kaminoans create a female clone who doesn't age rapidly or was trained for combat? In the latest issue of SFX magazine, Jennifer Corbett says that we will finally learn the truth (via Gamesradar).

"We definitely continue with learning about Omega's background, and the reasons why she was with Nala Se and Lama Su on Kamino," the head writer said. "But the Batch don't care what she is. All they know is that she's their sister, their squad member, and that's it for them."

For now, we know that Omega is fairly similar to her more famous brother, who Jango Fett specifically requested to be unaltered. But is there any chance that we'll get to see Omega teaming up with her brother Boba Fett in a possible spin-off project? Corbett quickly shot down the possibility.

"Where Boba Fett is at this moment is a very different path to Omega's. They're on different journeys at the moment," she said.

It might be too soon to expect an epic collaboration between Omega and Boba Fett but at least we're sure to see her in action again soon.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 will premiere on Disney+ on Wednesday, January 4, 2023.
