Star Wars Star Oscar Isaac Comments on The Batman Casting Rumors

With Ben Affleck (seemingly) gone from the DCEU, fans have been curious about Matt Reeves' The Batman, which will reportedly be set in the ‘90s. Rather than casting someone Affleck's age, we will probably get a younger actor since it's set in the ‘90s. There have been a ton of rumors claiming that we could get Armie Hammer as Bruce Wayne and now some reports are claiming that Star Wars star Oscar Isaac is in the running.

Isaac has since gone on record to say that isn't the case and he has not been contacted to play as a younger Bruce Wayne, though he wouldn't mind if that happened. When asked by Metro News if he was contacted by Warner Bros about the role, he had this to say:

"No. I have only read it online like everyone else. I haven't had any conversations about Batman, unfortunately, but I am sure it is going to be great. Matt Reeves is such a great director. Yeah, he can get my number."

Only time will tell who replaces Affleck and if he will do well. Fans loved Affleck's portrayal of The Dark Knight, despite the movies themselves being hot messes. He definitely brought some gravitas to the role, though Affleck would have benefited from a better script.

The Batman comes out on June 25, 2021.
