Zachary Levi Confirms Which Parts of the Shazam Suit Are Fake Muscles

Zachary Levi had to do some serious bodybuilding after he got cast for the lead role of Shazam!, but as it turns out, the suit still had some major augmentations to make him look more ‘super' than humanly possible.

Talking to The One Show, Levi confirms when asked if the muscles were real:

"Sure… I have busted my butt. I've been in the gym six days a week for a year and a half, and eating tons of chicken and broccoli, supplements and all that… I've never been healthier and stronger in my life, but certainly, the suit has some augmentation… my shoulders look like Dwight Howard... I think that's partly because they wanted to make sure that it was somewhat a manifestation of the imagination of a kid as a kid would believe they'd look as a superhero."

No doubt when it comes to these superhero films, there's always going to be some form of augmentation or another. I guess the only real way to show off the actors' bodybuilding work is when they do a shirtless scene—which Superman, Batman, and Aquaman have already done for the DCEU. While I'm not opposed to it, I think there won't be a shirtless scene when it comes to Shazam!, seeing that Billy even says he doesn't know how to pee in the suit. Then again, I'm sure Levi would have loved to show off the body he worked a year and a half for.

Shazam! is looking to be a great new addition for the DCEU, and everyone can't wait to see what Billy Batson has to bring to the universe.

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5.
