Star Wars: Solo Writer Addresses the Possibility of Doing a Sequel Series

Solo: A Star Wars Story became the first Star Wars film to flop at the box office and the plans of doing a sequel were immediately put down to rest. A lot of fans are still wondering whether Lucasfilm will ever continue the storyline that they set up in the film, especially now that they are also doing a lot of live-action shows which gives them an avenue to do it.

However, in a recent interview with Inverse, co-writer Lawrence Kasdan shoots down the idea when he was asked if they ever have plans to continue Solo: A Star Wars Story through a sequel TV series and said that he would rather make an actual sequel film instead.

"No there’s not any talk of that," Kasdan said. "I’ve never been particularly drawn to expanding [Solo] into a show. But, I do talk to Jon [Kasdan] and Ron [Howard] a lot about what went right and what went wrong with the Solo experience. I would be more interested in doing another movie, not a TV series."

Based on Kasdan's comments, it looks like we shouldn't expect Lucasfilm to do a follow-up series to Solo which is understandable since the film wasn't a success and there might be no drive or motivation for them to do a continuation of the film through a series.

While they might have no plans to do a sequel series, there is a possibility that they can at least continue the storyline that they set up with Qi'ra and Crimson Dawn at the end of the film. Let's just wait and see whether Lucasfilm will ever address that in some way in their future projects since a lot of fans are curious to see its resolution.
