Star Wars: Solo Screenwriter Eager for Possible Sequel Starring Alden Ehrenreich

Solo: A Star Wars Story may not have been the highest-earning film of the franchise but it certainly opened up a lot of possibilities for the characters it introduced. For instance, there are speculations of a Lando Calrissian spin-off project being developed. But what are the chances we will get a second movie focusing on Han Solo? Screenwriter Jon Kasdan says he's hoping another film will be made to bring back Alden Ehrenreich.

Jon Kasdan is currently promoting Willow but he also spoke about Solo 2 with ComicBookMovie. Interestingly, he revealed the one reason why he is pushing for a Solo sequel.

"The reason for a Solo 2 is if there's a great reason and certainly I'd be game if there was...there were so many great characters we were able to establish, and for me, the strongest argument for a Solo 2 is the movie was Alden's journey to owning that mantle, and by the end of it I thought he really did, and he didn't get the fun of getting to just inhabit it for a movie, so I'd love to see him back," Kasdan said.

Alden Ehrenreich's casting was certainly a major discussion when it was announced but there were mixed reactions to his performance. Nevertheless, we're willing to give Ehrenreich another chance if it means we get to learn more about Crimson Dawn and the rest of the criminal underworld.

For now, there haven't been any updates on whether there will be a second Solo movie. Although there were speculations that there are several spin-offs in development, Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to make an official announcement about a sequel. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

Solo: A Star Wars Story also featured Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandiwe Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo and Paul Bettany. The film premiered on May 25, 2018.
