Star Wars Shows Off A Brand New Symbol For The Sith Order

It looks like Lucasfilm is making a few changes to the Sith Order.

Star Wars just recently announced the arrival of Sith Trooper merchandise, and along with the all-red troopers comes a brand new logo for the Sith Order. The logo comes with the promotional image for Hot Toy's advanced release of the Sith Trooper figure.

This new symbol for the Sith has three prongs, and while it could take on several meanings, we have a feeling that it's going to build around the idea of the "The Ones" that were first introduced in the Mortis realm which appeared Star Wars: Clone Wars.

For the uninitiated, Mortis is a realm that exists within the Force outside of the known universe in Star Wars' galaxy far, far away. The realm inhabited by three powerful force-users. There is the Son, who represents the destructive and deadly aspects of the realm. There's also the Daughter, who represents peace and creation. Then there's the Father who maintains the balance of the Force between the two.

According to Screen Rant, the new Sith Order symbol first appeared in Star Wars summer 2019 release in the Darth Vader entry of the Star Wars: Who's Who in the Galaxy: Character Storybook, and ever since its appearance in the book, fans have been discussing the new logo. Now we have a confirmation that the new Sith Symbol is going to be part of Star Wars canon and that it's going to be part of the canon created by Episode IX.

We can only wonder whether this new symbol suggests the resurgence of the Sith. It seems likely, given the potential return of Emperor Palpatine.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
