Star Wars: The Mandalorian Star Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Contract is Reportedly a Multi-Show Deal

Rumor had been going around that Rosario Dawson has been cast as Ahsoka Tano for the second season of The Mandalorian, and now we reportedly have new details of her contract with Lucasfilm.

According to insider Daniel Richtman (via The Direct), Dawson's Ahsoka contract is said to be a ‘multi-show deal'. This actually lines up with rumors that not only will Dawson appear in The Mandalorian, but Disney is also planning a spinoff show with Ahsoka at the center of it.

If anything, Lucasfilm can use Ahsoka like Marvel Netflix did with Dawson's Claire Temple—in a sense that she could be the character that appears in every series set in the universe. Claire had appeared in Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist; and I can imagine that Ahsoka could do the same with The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan, and the Cassian Andor series.

While there are some who still want Ashely Eckstein for the part of live-action Ahsoka, I think that Dawson looks the part more. Her face is pretty close to that of the Clone Wars model of Ahsoka, and I honestly think she has more screen presence then Eckstein; no offense to Eckstein who has definitely helped make Ahsoka who she is. I just think Dawson would be better for the live-action part.

While there have been delays for multiple productions, The Mandalorian Season 2 was lucky enough to wrap before the lockdowns and quarantines had started coming. Let's hope it makes its October release date on Disney+.
