Star Wars: Ron Howard Responds to #MakeSolo2Happen Campaign Again

Back in late March, there was an online campaign on Twitter to #MakeSolo2Happen, which was trying to convince Lucasfilm to push through with their plans of making a Han Solo trilogy. This got the attention of a lot of people involved including Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca) and writer Jon Kasdan, and even Ron Howard gave a small reply. Now the campaign continues to move forward and Howard has replied to another #MakeSolo2Happen post.

This is what he says:

While we still have no confirmation on whether Solo 2 will happen or not, Howard's reaction is solid confirmation that we got the attention of someone working with Lucasfilm. We don't really know what their plan is when it comes to their anthology films, but I have a feeling they're going to exclusively come out in Disney+, in lieu of a theatrical release. While fans are saying they would prefer a cinematic film, some are willing to compromise of Lucasfilm decides to make Solo 2 a series instead.

Personally, I would prefer the spectacle of a film, which is really what Star Wars is about. Then again, if they do make a series, I guess I have to wait and see how The Mandalorian turns out so I can make a proper gauge of how enthused I'm going to be.

Solo 2 has not been officially announced, but we do have The Mandalorian which will debut on Disney+ this coming Nov. 12. We also have Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker which hits theaters Dec. 20.
